(April 2012) Blessings on State - Jacksonville, Illinois We had an exceptional stay at Blessings Bed & Breakfast! Gwen was a wonderful hostess and an outstanding chef!! Her husband was quite helpful as was her granddaughter who is a real charmer!! The suite is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated. The Christmas decorations were tasteful and made such a festive atmosophere. We highly recommend this B & B!! (January 2012) Inn at Pine Terrace - Oconomowoc, Wisconsin We just visited The Inn at Pine Terrace for about the 10th time. We have never been disappointed! The Inn is charming, the accomodations are very comfortable, and the setting is great ... tucked away on a wooded hill side .. just a short walk from two beautiful lakes and quaint 'down town' Oconomowoc. John and Ruth were perfect host and served fine breakfasts. Very relaxing. Can't wait to visit again. (October 2011) The Fairfield Inn 1757 - Fairfield, Pennsylvania Visiting Gettysburg we found the perfect Civil War era property. This is the most delightful, warm and friendly inn around the Gettysburg area. Andie, the Innkeeper made us feel like we were visiting a favorite aunt. She could have written the book on what how to perfectly run a B&B. Spacious rooms, f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s food, and an amazing history. (My parents stayed in J.E.B. Stuart’s room, used as his headquarters during the Civil War. We stayed in the 3 Colonels Suite, and didn’t want to leave!) To illustrate their service and attentiveness, they noticed I had thrown out my GPS (it broke on the trip) and they carefully retrieved it from my garbage thinking I had mistakenly tossed it. Be sure to eat at the tavern. I cannot wait to return, for the Fairfield Inn is the epitome of the B&B experience. (July 2011) Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast - Magnolia Springs, Alabama Everything you want in a B&B. Innkeepers love what they do. Lots of attention to detail. Lots of attention to guests without being intrusive. Helpful, informative. Beautiful old home, beautifully restored in a quiet, rural beautiful setting. Nicely appointed rooms. Comfortable bed. Big, tasty, healthy breakfast. Short walk down oak shaded lane to very good bar and restaurant. Lots of stuff to do in very interesting part of the country. (April 2011) Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast - New Orleans, Louisiana Talk about luck! Our first visit to New Orleans, and we found the best bargain in town. The Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast has it all: location, beauty, comfort, excellent professional standards, outstanding service, all for an affordable price. We came to New Orleans because our granddaughter had been accepted to Tulane University and needed to visit the school before making a decision. Finding the Avenue Inn on the Tulane University website, I chose it because it was close to the school and reasonably priced. What a lovely surprise! Bebe and Joe welcome you into their elegant home with genuine Southern hospitality and tell you that their first rule is that you have a great time in New Orleans. Well, they certainly succeeded with us. Each day as we explored New Orleans, we were delighted to return to the lovely tranquility of the Avenue Inn and the architectural beauty of the Garden District, remarking over and over how thankful we were not to be staying at an impersonal hotel in the French Quarter. Getting around was easy with the streetcar right outside the front door, and Joe and Bebe were so helpful with suggestions of things to see and do, places to eat. You don’t need a guidebook at the Avenue Inn. Thanks to them, we had a wide variety of experiences during our four-day visit. We hope that our granddaughter does choose Tulane so that we can return often, and it will be to the Avenue Inn. (January 2011) Bent Creek Lodge - Asheville, North Carolina This was a wonderful visit to the Asheville area. The Lodge was perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. Breakfast was amazing. A definite do again. (October 2010) Evergreen Gate Bed and Breakfast - St Andrews, Manitoba Staying at Evergreen Gate was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Winnipeg. Upon driving up to the house we were greeted by a tranquil setting-bright flowerbeds set amidst a lush green lawn. Our bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed. Rob and Laurel were gracious and knowledgeable hosts giving us a background on Winnipeg as well as ideas of what to see and do in the area. (Be sure and ask them about the Maple Tree Restaurant.) Sitting at the breakfast table each morning was a delight-the food was delicious and the company of Rob, Laurel and other guests made for an enjoyable and informative start to the day. We highly recommend this B&B and hope to get up to Winnipeg for a return visit!! (July 2010) Oak Tree Manor Bed & Breakfast, Weddings, and Special Events - Spring, Texas This place was magnificent. I didn't expect much being this close to the city, but you would never know where you are by the beauty and serenity of this property. Maggie the owner is the best. She took care of our every need. She even had a bottle of champaigne waiting for us in our room when we got there. Some of the trees on this property are registered and are over 200 years old. Maggie is an unbeleivable inn keeper and a great cook. The breakfast she made us had all the trimmings including homemade hot sauce and tortillas. We would highly recommend staying here. This is one of the most goergeous B&B we have ever stayed at. (April 2010) Mount Victoria Bed & Breakfast Inn - Eureka Springs, Arkansas We booked our stay at the Mount Victoria Inn to have a chance to relax and unwind - and it was the PERFECT place for us! Very charming and romantic, as is the entire town of Eureka Springs. The inn is beautifully decorated by Lisa, our room was very comfortable, and the breakfasts that Chris prepared were wonderful! We found the owners (Chris and Lisa) to be very friendly, and enjoyed chatting with them. There is nothing about our stay that I would change, and we can't wait to go back! (January 2010) Woodstocker Inn - Woodstock, Vermont “Awesome Woodstocker Inn is an 'off-the-hook' boutique inn! The Woodstocker Inn is a fabulous inn with incredible hospitality from innkeepers David and Dora. Simply, the integrity of hospitality is evident from the moment you step into the inn and ring the bell for the innkeepers. The decor is modern with vibrant colors, the cuisine is local, organic and expertly prepared (includes press pot coffee), and the atmosphere is laid back with a library filled with a diverse collection of books and cds for your listening pleasure. Hospitality with a green/organic attitude is much appreciated; the inn is immaculate. Lastly, the charm and wit of the innkeepers is marvelous. ----- Martha and David, Brooklyn, NY (October 2009) Seven South Street Inn - Rockport, Massachusetts This is one of the most exquisite inns we have ever stayed at. Debbie's gourmet breakfast is one of the best ever tasted! She is an outstanding cook as well as a wealth of local information. She is there to please and assist and makes certain your stay is a memorable one. We applaud Debbie and Nick with their outstanding job as innkeepers!! (July 2009) Harrington House Beachfront Bed & Breakfast Inn - Holmes Beach, Florida Harrington House bungalo was abolutely perfect. This was the first time at a bed and breakfast and we could not have been happier with our choice. The rooms were immaculate and the staff was trememdous. We have already booked for next year (April 2009) DC Guesthouse - Washington, District of Columbia Based on their website, I expected beautifully appointed, art-filled rooms. I found it most enchanting to be treated as a friend in the best sense of the word. The owners (Ron, Tom, Randy, and Mike) are the most hospitable hosts - warm and open while providing the perfect balance of privacy and camaraderie. Gourmet breakfasts, excellent dining and shopping recommendations, being pampered in an eclectic environment that transcends time and space (sounds like an exaggeration but the DC Guesthouse feels as though it could be anywhere in the world)- I will return as often as I am able, and highly recommend this B&B to all. (January 2009) Sunset on Seneca BnB - Burdett, New York Our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast! The Location was wonderful...right on the lake, and the accommodations were open and spacious with intriguing design and decor. Frank and Donna were helpful, friendly and lovely hosts. In our short stay we felt as though we had come as guests but left as fiends... Breath taking and the perfect place for a romantic, serene weekend or a girls/guys weekend. My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed our stay and will definately be back. The owner is a very genuine and down to earth guy, and his dog Luke is the most well behaved and loveable dog we had ever met. The hospitality is a 5 out of 5. Best place I have ever stayed. (January 2007) The Captain Jefferds Inn - Kennebunkport, Maine Jor from Boston - Highly recommended - the inn and property were wonderfully decorated for Christmas. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The Adare sweet was elegant. Be sure to enjoy an afternoon tea by the fireplace. Also, stop by the North Light Gallery on your 4 minute walk to Dock Square. (October 2006) Fox Hill Bed & Breakfast - Fairfield, Virginia J from Washington, DC - The place is just beautiful. It is secluded in the mountains and the house and grounds are amazing. It is just a few miles from Lexington which has a lot of history and good food. (July 2006) The Roosevelt, A Bed and Breakfast Inn - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Marge from Fresno, CA - Our stay was wonderful. The food was delicious. Hospitality very warm. The weather was great. John and Tina have great plans for the garden this year. I recommend The Roosevelt to anyone visiting Coeur d'Alene. (April 2006) Serenity Bed & Breakfast Inn - Wichita, Kansas Lance from Kansas - This is the best Bed & Breakfast we have ever stayed at. The tuxedo strawberries were delicious, as well as the fruit smoothies. The innkeeper was very friendly. Upon our arrivial he gave us a tour of the inn and told us the history of the building. He was very professional and helpful during our stay. (January 2006) Collingwood Inn Bed & Breakfast - Ferndale, California Jan from Cotati, CA - Chris and Peter are "gentlemen of the old school." They attend to every detail, not only making a guest's stay memorable, but making each person feel welcomed and cherished, as if that individual were the treasured special one they had been waiting for. On the other hand, in the evening several of us guests, unknown to each other gravitated to the parlor where, with our hosts, we relaxed into warm and friendly conversation over homemade pie and complimentary port. We became a gathering of old friends in their lovely, Victorian home. (October 2005) Weaverville Hotel & Emporium - Weaverville, California Jeff & Clair from USA - Anyone looking for gold in the Trinity Alps need look no further than the Weaverville Hotel. Jeanne and Brian Muir have struck a rich vein with this lovely old building---and polished it to a warm, lustrous sheen. The Muirs’ boundless love for Weaverville’s history clearly sets the tone for a restoration that is no less remarkable for its restraint as it is for the incredible task of unearthing such a gem. Any person lucky enough to spend a day (or two or three!) in these rooms will leave with a clear glance back to Gold Rush. For us we experienced also a most gracious hospitality and the realization that luxury, in its true sense, changes very little through the ages. (July 2005) Munro House Bed and Breakfast and Spa - Jonesville, Michigan Sally from Commerce Township, MI - We want to thank Mike & Lori for the lovely 50th Anniversary Party we held for our parents at the Munro House. I was able to coordinate all of the food for the party over the phone with Lori. This made it so easy for me, since I live 90 miles away in Detroit. I was most impresssed with the quality of the food, and all of the small details that made the house like entertaining in our own home, but without all the worry! The china and linens, even candle arrangements were all included. We simply could come in and enjoy the party. I certainly will recommend the Munro House for future parties, or as a bed and breakfast for people interested in staying in a lovely historical home with warm, entertaining innkeepers. (April 2005) Christmas House B&B Inn - Ouray, Colorado Barbara from California - Fabulous! The Christmas House was everthing a B&B should be. Warm, VERY comfortable, with luxury amenities everywhere. Our suite had a million dollar view, a private jacuzzi, private sauna, private entrance, antiques, even air conditioning... Breakfast was gourmet and the best We've had at any B&B. By far our best B&B experiance! We shall return! (January 2005) Herald House Bed and Breakfast - New Albany, Ohio Jayne from Massillon, Ohio - Connie and Nelson were outstanding hosts and were very accommodating. They wanted our experience to be "very special" and made us feel at home. We felt pampered!! It was fun! (October 2004) Solomon Mier Manor B & B - Ligonier, Indiana C. from Michigan - Ron was very knowledgeable about his home. He could not have been nicer He went out of his way to make breakfast early enought for us. We had a full day planed and he was waiting for us at 7am for breakfast just like he said he would.The home is 15 min. away from shipshawana, and close to everything else we wanted to do. Ron makes the best lemonaid! Sorry to say we did not meet Doris she was away. You won't go wrong spending a night in this home. (July 2004) St Botolph Inn Bed & Breakfast - Weatherford, Texas J. from Azle, Texas - It was a peaceful retreat with wonderful Christian hosts. The food was unbelievable!! The home was beautiful. (April 2004) Halvorsen House B & B - Friday Harbor, Washington S from Seattle, Wa - We stay at Halvorsen House B&B whenever we do business in Friday Harbor. We have been pleased beyond our expectations in every regard. Donna Maloney, innkeeper, does an exceptional job to make us feel right at home and thoroughly spoiled. We would recommend it highly. It is situated on a lovely piece of property, and is quiet and peaceful, except for the resident rooster, which just adds to the ambience. We have stayed there in all seasons, and have never been disappointed. (January 2004) 1868 Magnolia House Inn - Lexington, Virginia A. from Sausalito CA - This 1860's historic home was truly delightful. The room's decor was quite comfortable...modern conveniences yet a step back into time. The bed was very comfortable, something that it quite important to me. I loved being able to walk to town for anything I wanted. Lots of historic things to do. I highly recommend this B&B. (October 2003) Crown Point Bed and Breakfast - Crown Point, New York A from Morrison, CO - What a wonderful bed & breakfast! When I stepped over the threshold, I felt as though I was stepping back in time. Hugh and Sandy have put so much thought into every aspect of their in, and it shows in the beautiful detail. Each room had its own distinct charm. The hospitality was heart-warming. The innkeepers were eager to learn about us and do whatever they could to make our stay a memorable one. Complimentary drinks and water stocked daily in our refrigerator. Helpful and knowledgable innkeepers. The best value we have found in Santa Fe. (April 2003) Georgian House Bed & Breakfast - Annapolis, Maryland A from Philadelphia, PA - A from Philadelphia, PA - Our dear friend Eileen gifted us with a two-night stay in Georgian House's Thomas Stone Suite, which she booked through an Internet search! My husband and I want those of you who surf for a place in Annapolis, MD to know from our wonderful experience what a find this bed and breakfast is! Attention to details and comfort are the keys to your stay in Sandy and Hank's house. The accommodations feature replicas of the period with the addition of modern conveniences. Outside allows you to enjoy the solitude of the restful gardens. The elegant and delicious breakfast adds to the charm. Also, this b&b is in the heart of Annapolis, so you can easily walk to all the major attractions. We give Georgian house our highest recommendation! (January 2003) Heather's Glen...A Bed & Breakfast & More! - Conroe, Texas Megan from Bryan/College Station, Texas - My husband and I stayed at Heather's Glen for our second Valentine's Day as newlyweds. My husband made all the arrangements and the innkeeper helped him think of everything! The room was beautifully hand painted, complete with a large, comfy bed and a relaxing, two-person bath. The loveseat on the covered porch was perfect for enjoying the beautiful morning. We felt like we were hidden away from the entire world! It was so peaceful and quiet, and I almost wish we could have another wedding, just to get married at the gorgeous facilities. I would highly recommend it to anyone! (October 2002) Iron Mountain Inn B&B and Vacation Rentals - Butler, Tennessee Tara from Kingsport, TN - From the moment we pulled into the drive, until we waved goodbye from the car, we were shown such genuine hospitality from Ms. Vicky Woods. The Inn was extremely cozy from the 350 count Egyptian cotton sheets to the warm muffins and hot coffee outside your door in the morning, this place felt like home. The scenery that surrounded the Inn was breathtaking, and from the deck, you could see for miles. After only two nights, it was hard to leave the Iron Mountain Inn, and although it was our first visit, it certainly won't be our last. (October 2001) The Inn At Narrow Passage - Woodstock, Virginia Jennifer from Stafford, VA - I LOVED my stay at the Inn at Narrow Passage!!! It was great!! My husband and I had so much fun. We were looking for a weekend away from the hussle and bussle of northern va and we acheived that at the Inn at Narrow Passage. We swam in the Shenandoah River, we read books in our quiet room, we took walks and drives to see new things, we went horse back riding, we had the BEST breakfasts ever, and we went to the Edinburg Festival (a "must see"). It was all so wonderful. This inn is the best place to go if you want a down home country type inn with great food and great hospitality. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are making it a tradition and going back every year! (January 2001) Dripping Springs Resort - Estes Park, Colorado Julie from Pearsall, Texas - Drippings Springs is the most wonderful relaxing place to stay. The Innkeepers are the warmest and friendliest people that make everyone feel at home. And the breakfast is so delightful and filling. Always something new. (October 2000) Nagle Warren Mansion B&B - Cheyenne, Wyoming Ivy from Denver - A treasure in the heart of downtown Cheyenne - convenient to everything. A wonderful complement to a Frontier Days experience and only a block away from the excellent parade. Every single detail of this inn and its service are handled with elegance and friendly professionalism. The Inn has full services for both the vacationer and business traveler. This was our third visit, and we've already made our reservations for next year. Wyoming was wild in the olden days, but it was elegant, too, and this B&B experience will round out your picture of the west.
